Privacy Policy

How Secure Recycle collects, uses and protects information about the people who visit this website.

Last updated: October 15, 2026.

Secure Recycle ("we", "us") runs this website, securerecycle.com, and electronics and battery drop-off sites in the Sacramento area. This policy explains what information the website collects, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Newsletter sign-up: the email address you enter in the footer form.
  • Phone calls: if you call us, the number you call from and what you tell us.

Information collected automatically

  • Session recording: we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site, through heatmaps and session recordings of interactions such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement. Form fields and other inputs are always masked, so what you type is not recorded. Clarity data is processed by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement and the Microsoft Clarity Terms of Use. Clarity sets the cookies _clck and _clsk on this site and CLID on clarity.ms.
  • Advertising measurement: if we advertise online, the site may record which advertisement brought you here (for example a Google Ads click ID) so we can tell whether our advertising works.
  • Spam protection: forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a program, is sending the form.
  • Your consent choice: we keep a record of your cookie choice, with a shortened, scrambled form of your IP address rather than the address itself.

How we use information

  • To send the newsletter you asked for. Every email has a way to unsubscribe.
  • To answer your questions and provide our services.
  • To keep the website secure and free of spam.
  • To understand and improve how the website and our advertising perform.

Cookies and your choices

When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject analytics and advertising cookies, and you can change your mind at any time with the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link at the bottom of every page. We honour the Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser as a request to opt out.

Analytics and session recording run unless you opt out: rejecting the Analytics category in the banner or through that link stops Microsoft Clarity, and a Global Privacy Control signal opts you out automatically. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked first, and nothing loads until they accept. Opting out stops recording and deletes the Clarity cookies set on this site.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who run parts of the website for us, such as our hosting provider, our email delivery service, Microsoft (Clarity session recording) and Cloudflare (security), and only for those purposes, or when the law requires it.

Your California privacy rights

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to opt out of its sale or sharing for advertising, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will confirm your request and answer within the time the law allows.

How long we keep information

Newsletter sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe. Other records are kept only as long as we need them for the purposes above or as the law requires.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We will post any change to this policy on this page with a new "last updated" date.
